PROGRAM INFORMATION
Program Description: The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship provides master's and doctoral funding for graduate students with a commitment to the Asia Pacific region. Graduate degree fellows come from the U.S., Asia and the Pacific region to participate in residential, educational and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawaii. Through East-West Center affiliation, awardees become part of an active social network of students and alumni committed to positive change. The East-West Center and the University of Hawaii offer premier resources for studies on Asia and the Pacific.

Eligibility Requirements
Requirements 1: Must apply online at www.eastwestcenter.org/applyGDF no later than December 1. Application must also be made directly to the University of Hawaii no later than December 1. Both EWC and UHM application must be complete by January 10.
Requirements 2: The East-West Center invites applications from citizens of the U.S. and countries in the Pacific and Asia, including Russia.
Requirements 3: A minimum TOEFL score of 79-80 IBT, 6.5 IELTS score, or minimum DUOLINGO score of 100 for international applicants or non-native speakers of English.
Requirements 4: Must meet the requirements for the Exchange Visitor J-1 visa program.
